However, it’s much more than your typical sex book; it is an exploration of the entire erotic self and the infinite possibilities of ecstatic expression. For those of you in Europe, I’ll be offering a new weekend intensive called—yup, you guessed it–Ecstasy is Necessary: A Weekend Workshop in which we’ll dive deeper and look further into new and expanded possibilities for sexual, spiritual, and everyday bliss.

In this new workshop based on Barbara’s new book, Ecstasy is Necessary, we’ll dive deeper and look further into new and expanded possibilities for sexual, spiritual, and everyday bliss. We’ll begin by asking ourselves:
• What is ecstasy and how is is different from pleasure?
• Where am I right now in my erotic evolution and where would I like to go next?
• What forms of ecstatic experience will fulfill my deepest desires?
• What new and exciting erotic risks am I longing to take?
• What new boundaries and safety measures will I need to create in order to explore new erotic territory?
We’ll discover all this in erotic and ecstatic experiments using all of Barbara’s legendary Urban Tantric techniques, including breath, mindfulness, touch, Tantric and Taoist sexual practices, and conscious BDSM. You’ll practice new ways to communicate your desires and boundaries to partners, and how to solve the inevitable challenges that arise. You’ll also learn how to apply erotic and ecstatic practices to everyday life so that more and more aspects of your life can be opportunities for deep connections and spiritual fulfillment.
